WHEATON, Ill. — The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office has filed child endangerment and obstruction of justice charges against the mother of a newborn boy found abandoned in a backyard in Wheaton. Prosecutors announced the charges against 24-year-old Nunu Sung late Sunday, and said she was scheduled for a bond hearing Monday morning. Wheaton Deputy Police Chief Tom Meloni says a resident found the infant lying unclothed in a yard Friday morning. The umbilical cord was still attached, and the baby appeared to be only several hours old. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was still under treatment Sunday night. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
