
According to CNN, Joan Rivers, a well-known comedian died at 81. Rivers was removed from intensive care Wednesday.
ABC News posted this from Rivers’ daughter: “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers,” Melissa Rivers said in a written statement today. “She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.”
Rivers went to a clinic for a throat procedure when her heart stopped. She was rushed to the hospital where she was placed on life support until Tuesday. Rivers was removed from intensive care on Wednesday. She was moved to a private room.
The New York State Department of Health is investigating the clinic.
