Two people killed when their car struck a church

Authorities in Chicago say two people were killed and another was seriously injured when the car they were riding in slammed into a church on the city’s South Side.

The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado says the car struck the Old Way Mission Church. Chicago Police spokesman Officer John Henry says the woman driver was killed along with a male passenger. Their names aren’t being released pending the notification of next of kin. Henry says the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
