Less than a month after loyal listeners were shocked by the sudden dismissal of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show on Clear Channel’s local WVAZ-FM/102.7 (V103), fans will again get their weekday dose of the Fly Jock starting Wednesday. Joyner’s new radio home, Soul 106.3, teases its listeners that a big announcement is coming on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., leaving many to suspect that the TJMS will start airing on the station. In a message on Joyner’s Web site, blackamericaweb.com, Facebook and Twitter pages, he confirmed the suspicion. “Chicago, and our friends and family from all over the country, you have spoken, you have e-mailed, you have tweeted –– and once again your activism has made a difference in a big way! We are going back on the air in Chicago. Thank you to thousands upon thousands of you who let the media know that you wanted us back,” Joyner said. Clear Channel dumped Joyner’s show March 23 to make way for comedian Steve Harvey’s nationally syndicated show. Harvey had been broadcasting on WGCI-FM/ 107.5. ______ Copyright 2009 Chicago Defender.
