A reputed mobster who went to federal prison in an early 1990s crackdown on suburban Chicago organized crime has been indicted along with a Cicero police officer and five others in a racketeering case. Michael Sarno, who’s known as "the large guy," is charged in connection with what federal authorities contend was a racketeering enterprise that involved thefts from jewelry stores and other crimes in Chicago’s western suburbs. The investigation grows out of a bombing six years ago that wrecked the offices of a company that distributed video poker equipment that investigators say was used for gambling. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
