Gov. Pat Quinn has announced appointments to the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission, including a pastor and a former judge. The commission serves as an advisory group to the governor, the General Assembly and the department of human services. Panel members come from the public and private sectors. They include the Rev. Charles Jenkins and Judge George Timberlake, former chief justice of the Second Circuit Court. The commission develops the state’s juvenile justice plan for federal funds, ensures compliance with federal laws and determines spending priorities.
