The parents of a 6-year-old Chicago boy killed by a falling overhead garage door have sued the homeowner and two companies that manufactured and installed the door. Angela Washington-Sanders and Marshall Sanders filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court Wednesday on behalf of their son, Dijion. Officials say the boy was playing at his uncle’s home when he was trapped under the fallen garage door and asphyxiated. Dijion Sanders’ parents say the door wasn’t equipped with a required motion sensor. They also say the boy’s uncle, Darrell Washington, should have warned others that it could close unexpectedly. The suit names Washington, Mid-America Door Co. and Sears, Roebuck & Co. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
