Oprah Winfrey says she’s been “doing the happy dance all day” because Senator Barack Obama has become the presumed Democratic presidential nominee.
The Chicago talk show host has long supported the Illinois senator’s bid for the White House. Winfrey accompanied Obama at rallies in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. She also appeared with Obama’s wife Michelle at a Los Angeles rally in February and held a gala fundraiser at her estate in Santa Barbara, California, last September. In a statement Wednesday, Winfrey says she’s "euphoric" about Obama being the presumptive Democratic nominee and she’s ready "to go door to door" if he asks. Winfrey also says she’s proud the Obamas and "the new possibilities for our country."
