BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-One day after reinstating North Chicago Community High School’s freshman and sophomore football program, the Illinois High School Association reinstated the varsity team.

The IHSA suspended all of North Chicago’s football programs Sept. 10, after the varsity team fought with the Chicago Simeon High School team during a game.

As a result of the IHSA’s action Tuesday, North Chicago’s teams will play this weekend, the fourth of the season. However, the IHSA placed the football program on probation through the 2010 season, and seven players will be suspended.

Simeon was ahead 21-0 with about five minutes remaining in the first quarter when the game, played Sept 4 at North Chicago, was called off and Simeon declared the winner. While Simeon wasn’t held blameless, IHSA officials said North Chicago players were "way out of line." AP
