New Illinois Laws Taking Effect in 2025: What You Need to Know

As the new year approaches, nearly 300 new laws will take effect in Illinois on Jan. 1. These measures range from tackling catalytic converter theft to simplifying the process of canceling online subscriptions.

Illinois residents can expect significant changes: car theft victims will no longer bear towing and storage costs, families will see reduced out-of-pocket expenses for EpiPens, and more. The Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus has highlighted the top 10 laws set to impact everyday life in the coming year.
