CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A new documentary covers Michael Jordan’s short-lived minor league baseball career. The Charlotte Observer reported that ESPN will air a new film called "Jordan Rides the Bus" on Tuesday about the basketball star’s season with the Birmingham Barons. The film was made by director Ron Shelton of "Bull Durham" fame for ESPN’s "30 for 30" documentary series. The film series is a celebration of the sport channel’s 30-year anniversary and covers events from 1979 to 2009. Jordan left the Chicago Bulls in 1994 to play baseball and batted .202 in his only season in Birmingham. He returned to basketball a year later when Major League Baseball went on strike. Jordan won three more titles with the Bulls and is now the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. Copyright 2010 The Associated Press.
