CHICAGO Michelle Obama and ex-spy Valerie Plame are among the women expected at an annual Chicago “power lunch” hosted by Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.
More than 2,000 women attended last year’s event when the headliners included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro.
Michelle Obama is the wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, and she was also in the audience last year.
Plame is the former CIA officer whose identity was leaked. That sparked a federal probe resulting in Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff being convicted of perjury, obstruction and lying to the FBI. (AP)
