Nearly four years after Willie Williams III was gunned down outside the Ford City Shopping Mall, Chicago Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Eddie B. Fenton. Williams, a Robeson High School student, was fatally shot in April 2006 outside the mall when a fight broke out and turned deadly. When the dust settled, the 17-year-old was dead. At a recent news conference at St. Sabina Catholic Church, police said they were looking for Fenton, 24, for the murder based on tips received. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the teen’s death. The boy’s father, Willie Williams Jr., was relieved to know a suspect had been identified. “I’ve been waiting years for this news, but now we have to actually find him,” Williams said after hitting the streets with flyers about Fenton. The teen was a member of the Jesse White Tumbling Team and also loved to play basketball. To honor his legacy, Williams Jr. established the Willie Williams III Youth Foundation, an organization aimed at keeping youth safe. Copyright 2010 Chicago Defender
