SAN ANTONIO — A 22-year-old man is accused of stealing an autographed Michael Jordan jersey from the home of San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, authorities said Thursday. Parker’s manager called authorities in late May to report that the Chicago Bulls jersey had been swiped from a gym addition under construction at the home owned by Parker and his actress wife, Eva Longoria. The jersey had an estimated value of nearly $20,000. Detectives at the Bexar County sheriff’s office found the jersey listed on Craigslist and tracked the posting to Christopher James Carolan, an employee of the company hired to provide security for the Parker house. Carolan, who had an outstanding warrant for burglary in a separate case, resigned the day before posting the item on the Web site. Carolan was arrested and booked on the older burglary charge, and he remained jailed Thursday. While in custody, a theft warrant against him was issued in the Parker case, said Deputy Ino Badillo, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. The jersey was sold by Carolan before he was arrested, but it has been recovered, Badillo said. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
