CHICAGO (AP) — Maggie Daley, wife of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, has been admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with pain in her right leg.
Mayor’s office spokeswoman Jackie Heard and Maggie Daley’s doctor say she was admitted Saturday morning.
Maggie Daley was hospitalized in Washington in October with pain in the same leg.
She’s been battling metastatic breast cancer since 2002, and the cancer has spread to her bones. She had a titanium rod inserted into her leg last March to strengthen it.
The Daleys attended a fund raiser at the Art Institute late into the night Friday that honored them both.
Heard says doctors have conducted some tests and are awaiting the results.
Mayor Daley leaves office in May after 22 years.
