Madigan wins re-election as Ill. attorney general

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has won re-election to a third term.

CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has won re-election to a third term.

Madigan handily defeated Republican newcomer Steve Kim, Green Party candidate David Black and Libertarian Bill Malan.

The 44-year-old Madigan became the state’s first female attorney general in 2003.

She has been mentioned as a possible candidate for governor, senator and mayor of Chicago.

She won the 2006 election with more than 70 percent of the vote.
