MAYFIELD, Ky. — A jury has found the final suspect in the slaying of a western Kentucky teenager nearly a decade ago not guilty of all charges. The Paducah Sun reported on its Web site Thursday that it took the Graves County Circuit Court jury about an hour to return the verdict in the trial of Lynn Austin Leech. Leech was the last of the defendants in the 2000 murder case of 18-year-old Jessica Currin in Mayfield. He had been charged with tampering with evidence and perjury. Currin’s burned body was found behind Mayfield Middle School in July 2000. Six others were either convicted or pleaded guilty in Currin’s death. ______ In photo: Victoria Caldwell uses a pointer to show the location where she, Jeffery Burton, Venesha Stublefield and Lynn Austin Leech placed the body of Jessica Currin and then lit it on fire at Mayfield Middle School during her testimony in the trial of Lynn Austin Leech Thursday, July 30, 2009, in Graves County Circuit Court in Mayfield, Ky. She was sentenced to five years after pleading guilty to tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse for her role in the August 2000 murder of Jessica Currin. Leech is accused of assisting in moving her body. Quincy Omar Cross was found guilty for her murder. (AP Photo/The Paducah Sun, Stephen Lance Dennee) Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
