NEW YORK – Another American Idol alum is headed to Broadway.
Jordin Sparks will join the cast of the Tony-winning musical In the Heights this summer.
Producers Kevin McCollum and Jeffrey Seller said Monday the 2007 American Idol winner will play Nina Rosario in the musical for a 12-week engagement Aug. 19 through Nov. 14.
The 20-year-old Sparks has had such pop hits as Tattoo, No Air and One Step at a Time, as well as the dance success S.O.S. (Let the Music Play).
