The teen’s identity is being withheld because his is a minor. Four others have been charged as adults and are awaiting trial.
Albert, a 16-year-old honor student at Fenger High School, was pummeled to death Sept. 24, 2009 during a melee blocks away from the South Side high school.
The heinous beating was captured on amateur video. The video received national attention, including from the White House. President Barack Obama dispatched to Chicago the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and the nation’s education secretary, Arne Duncan, who is the former CEO of Chicago Public Schools.
