Making his annual trip to Chicago Sunday to speak at St. Sabina church’s Black History Month speaker’s series, Princeton University professor Cornel West also took time to talk politics. As “Ain’t No Stoppin Us Now” played in the background, West and mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun walked out on stage Sunday at the Parkway Ballroom on the South Side touting Braun’s public service record and blasting’s fellow candidate Rahm Emanuel’s. West also stressed concern over President Barack Obama’s perceived support of Emanuel’s candidacy. “He’s on the wrong side…I say that out of love,” the professor said about the president. After the rally for Braun, West met with rapper Che “Rhymefest” Smith, a candidate for 20th Ward alderman. “I support that brother; I’m with him 120 percent.
