A ComEd spokesman says some 4,300 Chicago-area customers are still without power as the result of the weekend’s severe storms.
Spokesman Jeff Burdick says 1,600 are without power in the northern suburbs, 1,400 in the southern suburbs and 1,000 in the western suburbs. The city of Chicago has fewer than 280 ComEd customers without service. Crews working to restore power Friday through Sunday had a tough time staying ahead of the weather, and the number of outages hit five figures more than once. At the peak of the outages on Saturday, some 26,000 customers were without power. AP ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
