The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program said Wednesday that it wants home owners to receive the program’s benefits if they need to replace their heating equipment or want to install attic insulation. The tax credits expire Dec. 31.
Officials with the program say so far 2,300 Chicago residents have received payments for installing the high-efficiency equipment. Replacing or installing attic insulation is important because it stops heat loss and ca lower gas bills.
The Chicago-area program has its own rebates ranging between $50 and $850.
