Chicago police shoot man to death on CTA train

Police have shot a 19-year-old man to death on a Chicago Transit Authority train.

CHICAGO (AP) — Police have shot a 19-year-old man to death on a Chicago Transit Authority train. Police say they received a call early Saturday about an armed man on a Red Line train. When officers confronted the man, he allegedly struggled and pointed the gun at them. Both responding officers then shot him. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man as George Lash. No other injuries were reported, and police say a weapon was recovered at the scene.
